Blackfoot Trail LRT Bridge
The Blackfoot Trail LRT Bridge is a key piece of infrastructure for the Green Line, designed to carry trains over Blackfoot Trail S.E. just south of the 26 Avenue S.E. station.
Scope of work
The scope of work for this project includes site grading, erosion and sediment control, drilling of concrete piles to build the foundation for the bridge abutments, construction of the bridge abutments, and construction of the bridge itself, which will feature prestressed concrete I‑beams for the girders and a concrete deck supporting both the train tracks and a multi‑use pathway.

April 2026 Update
Progress remains steady, with both bridge abutments now constructed. Located at each end of the bridge, the abutments connect the bridge deck to the ground and provide critical vertical and horizontal support.
In late April, crews poured concrete for the wing walls and back wall of the north abutment. These elements form the transition between the bridge structure and the surrounding soil. Slope stabilization work is also ongoing around the north abutment.
Next, crews will construct the wing walls and back wall for the south abutment, along with slope stabilization on that side. This work will be followed by the installation of the bridge girders.
