Ogden Road Realignment

To make way for the Green Line, Ogden Road SE will be realigned between the Canadian National Railway (CN) bridge and 69 Avenue SE. The Green Line will run between the realigned roadway and the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railway line. This project is a key step in preparing for the road realignment.

Throughout construction, access to Pop Davies Athletic Park will be maintained, along with vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist access along Ogden Road SE and Millican Road SE. The informal gravel parking on the west side of the existing Ogden Road will be permanently removed to make way for the new roadway.

Work includes:

  • Installation of a water main and storm trunk line
  • Construction of a new asphalt parking lot with approximately 100 stalls at the south end of Pop Davies Athletic Park
  • Landscaping and related site improvements

October 2026 update

Work continues on the Ogden Road Realignment project as construction moves closer to substantial completion, which is anticipated in November.

Installation and backfilling of the underground stormwater storage tank at the south end of Pop Davies Athletic Park are now complete. Crews are awaiting final compaction testing before asphalt can be placed over the area.

Installation of the storm trunk line is also nearing completion. Once complete, it will collect runoff from catch basins and manholes along Ogden Road and direct it to the underground stormwater storage tank.

Other remaining work continues across the project area, including construction of the lock-block retaining wall and third-party utility relocations needed to accommodate the future road alignment and Green Line construction.
