Ogden Road Realignment

The realignment of Ogden Road S.E. between roughly the Canadian National Railway rail bridge and 69 Avenue S.E. is required to make room for the Green Line alignment, which will run between the realigned Ogden Road and the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway line.

Throughout construction, parking and access to Pop Davies Athletic Park will be maintained, along with vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist access along Ogden Road and Millican Road. The informal gravel parking along the west side of the current Ogden Road will be permanently removed as part of this work to make room for the new Ogden Road.

Scope of work

In addition to the road realignment, the scope of work includes installing a water mainline, storm and sewer lines, adding a multi-use pathway along the west side of Ogden Road, constructing a new asphalt parking lot with approximately 100 stalls at the south end of Pop Davies Athletic Park, and completing landscaping and other related work.

April 2026 Update

Work continues on site, with the watermain installation approximately 75% complete. Watermains are large underground pipes that deliver pressurized drinking water to communities. A tie‑in—which is the connection between the new watermain and the existing water system—was completed at the south end of the project site at the end of April. The north tie‑in is scheduled to be completed later this summer.

Installation of the storm trunk line is also underway and about 20% complete. Storm trunk lines collect runoff from smaller sewer lines and carry it to a major outfall, which is a location where collected stormwater is released from the storm drainage system into a river, creek, pond, or other approved outlet.

Work on the parking lot at the south end of Pop Davies Athletic Park will ramp up for the next few months, with completion planned for the end of the summer.
