Situated in the vibrant and iconic Stephen Avenue walkway, Elements Outfitters is a new location from the well-established Albertan-owned business Elements Inc., serving outdoor enthusiasts for over twenty years.

Located near the future Centre Street and 7th Avenue Green Line stations, Elements Outfitters offers a selection of outdoor and lifestyle apparel with brands like Filson and Hooké.

Elements Outfitters not only operates its main location on Stephen Avenue but has expanded to other areas within Canada. The company runs additional stores in south Calgary, Edmonton, and British Columbia. Elements Inc. also independently owns and manages Patagonia stores in Calgary, Banff and Victoria.

As a long-term resident of Calgary, Maggie Geis, the Marketing Manager for Elements Outfitters, believes that “Calgary is one of the most livable cities in the world, and that through the development of the Green Line, it will reduce pollutants and is going to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions.”

Elements Outfitters is also a member of the 1% for the Planet initiative, which asks businesses to contribute 1% of their annual sales directly to environmental organizations. The cause aims to prevent greenwashing, verify reputable giving, and provide accountability.

“We need regenerative and innovative solutions, and we need projects and solutions rooted in longevity,” said Geis when asked about the benefits the Green Line will add to the city.

As Elements Outfitters continues to grow and thrive, Maggie Geis also mentioned how the business tries to find ways to be more than just a retail space. “We try to explore the possibility of what a retail space can be and come and connect and learn and build new ideas and offer a product that we see has a huge need and desire in a city like Calgary.”

The future Centre Street and 7th Avenue Green Line stations will allow more businesses like Elements Outfitters and Patagonia Calgary to continue evolving and flourishing on the iconic Stephen Avenue walkway.
