Contract awarded for elevated guideway at 114 Avenue and Barlow Trail S.E.
The Green Line LRT – SE Project has reached another major milestone with the award of a contract to local Calgary company Graham to build an elevated guideway at 114 Avenue and Barlow Trail S.E.
As a critical component of the future transit system, the elevated guideway will carry trains over the intersection on a dedicated track and support the seamless movement of light rail vehicles through this busy area of southeast Calgary.
“Graham is pleased to advance the Green Line project with the award of the elevated guideway at 114 Avenue and Barlow Trail S.E.,” said Bryce Terry, Project Director at Graham. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with The City on this important step toward enhancing public transit and connectivity across Calgary.”
The work will deliver a 570-metre stretch of elevated guideway that includes constructing piers and installing girders and a bridge deck, along with supporting earthworks, drainage improvements, grading work, and retaining walls.
This project builds on the work already completed by Graham over the past year that included drilling 22 piles and completing several road reconfigurations, highlighting the continued collaboration between project partners and local crews.
The Green Line project continues to drive meaningful opportunities for Calgary’s construction sector, supporting skilled trades, engineering roles, and local suppliers. As construction advances across the project, Calgarians are playing a direct role in building the infrastructure that will serve their communities.
Once complete, this elevated structure will carry Green Line trains safely and efficiently over a busy intersection—improving connections across southeast Calgary and helping people get where they need to go more easily. It’s another visible step in building a modern transit system shaped by the people who live and work in this city.
