Green Line 4 Street S.E. station in the heart of the C+E District

As construction continues to make way for Green Line and CMLC’s Culture + Entertainment (C+E) District, we had a chance to speak with Emma Stevens, Senior Manager of Communications for CMLC, to learn more about their projects and how Green Line will help connect the city to Calgary’s next great neighborhood.

“There are so many attractions in the area that Calgarians and visitors of the city want to take advantage of, and the connectivity to the rest of the city is incredibly important. When Green Line LRT opens it’ll make it that much easier to get to the culture and entertainment district and to access these incredible businesses and attractions,” said Stevens.

The C+E District is envisioned as a vibrant, high density, mixed-use community that will be a hub for the arts, as well as sports and the businesses of Calgary. Many of the District’s catalyst projects, such as the $500 million expansion for the BMO center, are already underway.  With the future underground Green Line LRT station at the center of the C+E District, Calgarians will be given access to everything the District has to offer, from watching a Flames game at the Saddledome to rodeos at the Stampede – maybe even visiting a park or local restaurant. One thing is for sure, the district has something for everybody!

“Like the Culture + Entertainment District, Green Line is a great modern amenity that Calgarians for years to come will be able to enjoy, and that’s what we’re doing in the C+E we’re looking at the future of Calgary where Calgarians can come together and celebrate, to gather and to experience culture together,” explained Stevens.

The 4th Street SE station will help to carry out C+E’s master plan, bringing a wide variety of people with different interests into the district.
