View station on map

The 9 Avenue N. station will be a surface station in the community of Crescent Heights. It will be located near 9 Avenue N. and Centre Street. This new station will provide added direct connections to the Crescent Heights community, area businesses and Crescent Heights High School. The 9th Avenue N. Station is envisioned to be a smaller community station that can be accommodated within the project budget and designed to fit within the context of the neighbourhood.

This station will serve the Crescent Heights Village Business Improvement Area and provide access to shops, restaurants and services within the Crescent Heights community.

It will also serve immediate local destinations such as:

  • Rotary Park
  • Crescent Heights Park
  • North Hill Community and Calgary Curling Clubs
  • Mount Pleasant Tennis Club

This station will also help enable opportunities for future transit-oriented development along the south end of the Centre Street corridor. In addition to local amenities, this station will provide access to valued regional destinations of McHugh Bluffs, Sunnyside Bank Park (Field of Crosses) and a new multi-use pathway connection from Crescent Heights to Downtown Calgary using the proposed LRT bridge.

Long-term vision for the 9 Avenue N Station

The addition of the 9 Avenue N Station within Crescent Heights will provide the opportunity for changes within the neighbourhoods over time. These opportunities include:

  • improvements to the public realm on Centre Street
  • the creation of neighbourhood pocket parks with traffic calming measures
  • potential redevelopment of residential and commercial properties

This station will be within walking distance of homes and businesses in the area, providing another option for travelling to:

  • parks and recreation centres
  • shopping centres
  • community resources and job centres in different areas of the city
