TIP: If the plastic film and wrap stretches (like a grocery bag) it's recyclable; if it does not stretch, is crinkly or tears (like a plastic frozen dinner cover), it's not recyclable.

  • In your blue cart for recycling
  • At a community recycling depot

Special instructions

  • Plastic film must be clean for recycling. Separate overwrap from other materials (e.g. cardboard flat) for recycling.
  • Bundle plastic film with your other stretchy plastic bags and securely tie closed. Loose film creates equipment jams at the sorting facility which is why they need to be bagged together in order to be recycled properly.
