Our green building projects

The City of Calgary is working to lower building operating costs. We aim to strengthen the resilience of key infrastructure. This includes administrative buildings, water treatment plants, composting facilities, recreation centres, and more.

Project highlights

  • Ralph Klein Park

    The Environmental Education Centre located at Ralph Klein Park is a LEED Platinum certified project.

  • Calgary Composting Facility

    The Calgary Composting Facility was the first commercial building in Alberta registered under LEED v4.

  • Telus Spark

    The Telus Spark Science Centre is a LEED Gold Certified facility. It has solar panels installed on its roof for green energy production.

  • Stoney Transit Facility

    The new Stoney Transit Facility stores and maintains Transit’s compressed natural gas and diesel buses. It received LEED v4 Gold certification in 2019.
