September 2019 Newsletter

Hello Ward 14!

I hope you have enjoyed your summer. I know there is some great weather to come yet—fingers crossed.

I will be keeping this column short and sweet. There is only one thing that I want you to remember for now, and that is the Ward 14 Communities BBQ!

If there has to be one reason, and only one reason to attend my BBQ, it would be to get a FREE, juicy, and delicious Spolumbo’s sausage on a bun, but that won’t be the only free thing you get. The point of this BBQ is to promote the amazing work of Ward 14’s Community Associations. Head down to meet them, and your reward will be a free community association membership. Remember though, the free sausage, and the free memberships are first-come, first-served, so get there early.

None of this is possible without sponsors (taxes are not used). Spolumbo’s helps with the food. Waste Connections, Mattamy Homes, and United Alberta Lands have kicked in money. Spruce Meadows has too, and they will be bringing some of the Cavalry FC, so you can kick the ball around with the first Canadian Premier League team to beat an MLS team. There will also be a fire truck, and the chance to visit with various City of Calgary departments, and community groups.

Join me on September 21 anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please note the new location this year. We will be in the parking lot behind Centennial High School (55 Sun Valley Blvd SE).

Visit calgary.ca/ward14bbq if you are looking for more info.

Please feel free to contact me any time. The best way to do so is by visiting calgary.ca/contactward14.

Sincerely,

-Councillor Peter Demong
