While the Vista/ePermits system remains stable, there are periods of slow response to prompts. Users are asked to continue practicing patience as repeated prompts will cause continued slow response. Any significant issues beyond delays should be reported to Planning and Development.
We appreciate your continued understanding as our team works through these technical issues. Please be patient when working in the system as it may take longer to respond to your prompts. We will continue to update you when more information is available.

As we head into the weekend, we are happy to report that we have made progress resolving the Vista/ePermit technical issues and are encouraged by early signs that the system is stable for external access.
The system is open for permit applications and to check the status of ongoing permits; however, we ask for your patience as the system may be slow due to the increased demand and may take longer to respond to your prompts.
As users enter permit applications, you are likely to encounter delays in processing; however, if you encounter a significant issue beyond system delays, please let us know by calling 311.
As valued partners, we want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work through this inconvenience. A team is actively monitoring the situation, and any system updates will be provided on this page.

The Vista/ePermit system, that is used by builders and contractors to apply for Residential Improvement Permits (RIPs) and Single Construction Permits (SCPs), is currently experiencing technical issues, and some applications and services may be delayed and/or temporarily unavailable.
While we work to resolve the issue, there are a couple of options to ensure you receive continued service:
- For Single Construction Permits (SCPs):
- Make an appointment and apply in person on the 3rd floor of the Municipal Building.
- Review what you need for your application, call 403 268 5343 and staff will create a OneDrive link that they will email to you.
- For Residential Improvement Permits (RIPs), please apply online at apply.calgary.ca using a MYID account. If you do not have an account, you can create one.
- We are actively testing resolutions to this issue; however, we do not have an estimated time for the system to be completely back online.
We understand this unexpected outage is an inconvenience, and we are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time and will continue to provide you with updates as they become available.
