Executive team

This complex mega project requires strategic leadership and experience in infrastructure delivery at the same scale to ensure it is delivered successfully. Collectively, the Green Line executive team has decades of experience in building major infrastructure projects across the world.


Darshpreet Bhatti, Chief Executive Officer

As a strategic leader with multifaceted experience in delivering multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects, Darshpreet is responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of the Green Line LRT Program.

Throughout his career as a professional engineer, Darshpreet has been responsible for complex transit infrastructure projects including the Metrolinx Hurontario Light Rail Transit Project and Region of Waterloo Rapid Transit (LRT/BRT) Project. He has also been involved in navigating and delivering major city-building initiatives including the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization, City of Brampton AcceleRide Project, and the City of Windsor Detroit River Tunnel project providing genuine leadership to the team and with stakeholders to realize the full potential of each project. 

Darshpreet sets the vision and the course for the Green Line project team and reports to the Green Line Board which is fully accountable for the delivery of the Green Line LRT Project.


Saeed Ganji, Chief Operating Officer

Saeed joins the Green Line LRT Project with a diverse background of senior roles in procurement, project execution, dispute resolution, and program controls for large infrastructure projects, including the $5B Hurontario LRT. Saeed’s experience includes transit (LRT and BRT), heavy civil, industrial (oil and gas), and nuclear construction sectors. In addition to his professional experience, he has a Master's degree in Civil Engineering. 

As COO, Saeed provides direction on executing and implementing Stage 1 of the Green Line LRT Project and is accountable for providing executive oversight to the Green Line’s construction, technical, commercial, business services, legal, PMO, public affairs and HR teams.


Lisa Adamo, Executive Director, Commercial

Lisa brings executive leadership experience to the Green Line team in delivering large-scale, complex commercial transactions across the transportation, social, electricity and information technology sectors. 

As Executive Vice President of Operations for SaskBuilds, she led the development and implementation of the Government of Saskatchewan’s Public Private Partnership (P3) Program and a $3B+ portfolio of P3 projects which included the Regina Bypass, the largest transportation project in the province’s history.    

Lisa has extensive experience providing advice to provincial and municipal governments and oversees the Green Line LRT Project’s commercial portfolio setting strategy, priorities, and direction. Lisa also holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan.


Rizwan Hussain, Executive Director, Construction & Technical Services

Rizwan is leading the Construction team including safety, environment, and quality management and brings more than 25 years of project delivery experience to the Green Line LRT Project. He has successfully delivered large-scale transportation projects on time and on budget, while demonstrating strong leadership, effective communication, and collaborative approach towards managing complex technical, stakeholder, and contractual issues.

Rizwan was recently working as a Chief Technical Officer, delivering the Design-Build-Finance-Maintain, Modernize I-75 project in Michigan. The project included construction of approximately 5-mile-long tunnel in an urban environment using a Tunnel Boring Machine.

Prior to that, Rizwan worked with Alberta Transportation for 15 years, most recently as their Project Director, Major Capital Projects, where he led the delivery of the Southwest Calgary Ring Road ($2.2B), 240 km of Highway 63 twinning from Grassland to Fort McMurray ($1.2B), and Fort McMurray Urban Services Area infrastructure improvements ($1B).


Gregor Neilson, Executive Director, Business Services

Gregor joins the Green Line team with over 22 years of leadership experience in delivering a range of engineering, construction, maintenance and advisory services.

He has contributed to some of the largest infrastructure projects across Canada including the Site C Hydro Dam in British Columbia and the Confederation Line LRT in Ottawa. Gregor has also led engineering departments as well as project and construction management teams across transportation, energy, defence and industrial sectors. He brings a wealth of experience and a proven ability to deliver results in differing and challenging environments.

Gregor believes in building trust within his teams, as well as inspiring individuals to do their best, and will look to do so as Green Line’s Director of Business Services. He is accountable for overseeing Green Line’s financial, project control, risk management, reporting, estimating and IT functions.


Mark Stirling, Executive Director, Project Management Office

Mark brings over 20 years of engineering and project management experience across a variety of sectors, including health care, pulp and paper, oil and gas and infrastructure.

As a Project Director with WSP Canada, Mark managed the delivery of a Design-Build P3 District Energy System project. The $2.6B project included four central heating and cooling plants and more than 14 km of underground pipe, which provides heating and cooling services to buildings in the National Capital Region.

Alongside his diverse work experience, Mark has proven expertise in developing the processes and tools required to make project execution consistent, scalable, and tailored to the complexity of the projects being delivered. He also holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa and an MBA in Leadership from Royal Roads University, along with a PMP designation.

As Director of Green Line’s Project Management Office, Mark will be responsible for governance, reporting, HR, business efficiency and implementation of project management systems and processes. 


Wendy Tynan, Executive Director, Public Affairs

Wendy joined the Green Line team in 2020 with more than 20-years of diverse experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, government relations and reputation management from both the private and public sectors including: Centrica Energy, Canlin Energy, Direct Energy, SAIT, University of Calgary and the Alberta provincial government in a Minister’s Office, Executive Council, and the Premier’s Office.

Under Wendy’s leadership, the Public Affairs team works to engage and support stakeholders, including businesses, community associations, BIA’s, property owners and residents, along the Stage 1 Green Line alignment.

A recognized community leader, Wendy is on the Board of Directors for the Calgary Stampede, Chair of the Calgary Counselling Centre, and a Board member with the Epilepsy Association of Calgary and the Heritage Park Society. She has been recognized as one of Calgary’s Top 40 under 40 and a University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business Graduate of Distinction.
