This new community hub in Saddle Ridge will give people of all ages more ways to stay active and connect, close to home.
Project overview
Northeast Calgary is growing quickly. This project will help make sure you have access to the space you need to stay active and connected year-round.
When completed, this facility will feature:

More space to play sports all year round.

Indoor and outdoor fields in one place.

Areas to gather, watch games and spend time with your community.

Facilities that support local leagues and major events.
What you’ll find at the complex:
- A cricket field built to host local, regional and national games and competitions - the first of its kind in Calgary.
- Four outdoor multi-use artificial turf fields.
- An indoor fieldhouse for year-round training and competitions.
- Indoor cricket batting nets.
- 16 team rooms and four change rooms for officials.
- Washroom facilities, multi-purpose areas, spectator seating and more.
- Green space, pathways, picnic areas and playgrounds.
- On-site parking for more than 550 vehicles.

Through public engagement, you asked for more places to play, spaces you can use year-round and a place to bring your community together. The Northeast Athletic Complex is designed to deliver on that.

Project documents
The Calgary Planning Commission approved the development permit application on April 30, 2026.
Budget and funding
The Northeast Athletic Complex is fully-funded for construction.
This stage includes $14.4 million, and design is underway. Council approved the funding in December 2025, as part of the 2026 budget.
