We’re proud to support community initiatives when possible. Each year, we provide a limited number of complimentary single-day leisure centre admissions to eligible organizations for fundraising and community events.

Who can receive complimentary admissions

To create the greatest community benefit, we give priority to requests that support:

  • Children and youth events

  • Non-profit organizations

  • Schools

What we can offer

If your organization is approved, you can receive:

  • Complimentary single-day leisure centre admissions for Southland Leisure Centre
  • Value of up to $60 in leisure centre admissions once per year (admissions are valid for 12 months from the date of your event)
  • Admissions to aquatic and fitness centres can be provided upon request

All requests are supported through a limited annual budget. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee your organization will receive complimentary leisure centre admissions.

Requests we may not be able to support

We may not be able to offer complimentary lesiure centre admissions if:

  • The annual donation budget has already been fully allocated
  • Your organization has received admissions within the past 12 months
  • The request does not align with program priorities
  • The information provided is incomplete or unclear

How to apply

To be considered, applications must be submitted at least two months before the event date. This helps us review requests fairly and gives us enough time to respond before your event.

Step 1: Complete the application form

In your application, please provide:

  • Your organization’s name, mailing address and main contact information
  • Confirmation that your organization is a nonprofit, school or community group
  • The event name, date and location
  • How the passes will be used (for example, in a silent auction or raffle)
  • Who the event will support (for example, children and youth)
  • The estimated number of attendees or participants
  • Details of any planned recognition (optional). Recognition is appreciated but is not required and does not affect approval decisions.
Apply for complimentary admissions

Step 2: Review and decision

We'll review your request within 14 days and email you our decision after the review period. If your request is approved, we'll include instructions on how to collect your passes.

We use the same process for every request. We consider:

  • How well the request supports our program goals
  • Whether it meets our annual limits for donation value and frequency
  • Available budget at the time of review
  • Whether the request includes all required information

Using the same criteria for all requests helps us make fair and consistent decisions when there are more requests than available resources.
