-

Put broken down election signs into your black cart as garbage.
Large quantities of election signs - free Eco Centre recycling September 15 - November 15, 2025
-
Take to a City Eco Centre
Take large quantities of election signs to a City Eco Centre. There is no cost if you bring the signs between September 15 to November 15, 2025, unless you bring other garbage in your load.
Remove all wooden stakes, metal supports, and screws from the signs before coming to the Eco Centre.
What happens to the signs collected at City Eco Centres?
The signs are collected separately and taken to a recycler who can receive large volumes of election signs for recycling.
Why can’t election signs be recycled in the blue cart?
Election signs need to be collected separately from other recyclables (with stakes removed) as they are unable to go through the typical sorting process. These “flat” pieces of plastic are not able to be sorted at the facility and end up contaminating the other recyclables.
