Calgary Fire Department Fire Training Academy and Multi-Agency Training Centre

The Calgary Fire Department trains its members at the Fire Training Academy (FTA) and Multi-Agency Training (MAT) Centre, located near Elliston Park in Southeast Calgary.

The site contains two major buildings, at 5727 and 5705 23 Ave., SE, as well as a number of other facilities designed to provide safe, controlled training opportunities for firefighters, technical rescue teams, and other emergency services agencies.

Training exercises are conducted year-round and include training in high-angle (rope) rescue, water rescue, vehicle extrication techniques, structural collapse and confined space rescue.
