Adopt-a-Rink volunteer program

Adopt-a-Rink is a winter volunteer program through which volunteers help flood and maintain existing community pleasure skating rinks throughout Calgary.

About the Adopt-a-Rink program

We have over 65 adopted rinks and hundreds of volunteers involved in the program. Adopt-a-Rink gives people the opportunity to get together with friends and neighbours to help keep local skating rinks flooded, maintained, and looking clean.

Want to start a new rink in your community?

Call 311 to learn more about the volunteer role, process and next steps in working with the community and the City.

Adopt-a-Rink locations

  • Adopt-a-Rink locations are subject to change due to volunteer participation.
  • Adopt-a-Rinks are for pleasure skating only. Hockey equipment and games are not permitted on these rinks.
