Adopt-a-Rink is a winter volunteer program through which volunteers help flood and maintain existing community pleasure skating rinks throughout Calgary.
About the Adopt-a-Rink program
We have over 60 adopted rinks and hundreds of volunteers involved in the program. Adopt-a-Rink gives people the opportunity to get together with friends and neighbours to help keep local skating rinks flooded, maintained, and looking clean.
Want to start a new rink in your community?
Call 311 to learn more about the volunteer role, process and next steps in working with the community and the City. The deadline to bring new rink proposals forward for the 2021/22 season is October 1, 2021.
Adopt-a-Rink locations are subject to change due to volunteer participation.
Adopt-a-Rinks are for pleasure skating only. Hockey equipment and games are not permitted on these rinks.
