The Green Line community and business relations team will make sure you have what you need to prepare for and manage potential impacts from construction. They also work with project engineers and construction contractors to be responsive to issues and provide solutions, when possible, to concerns from the business community.
For the past few years, we have been looking at construction impacts to businesses during similar infrastructure projects. We have been learning from businesses and communities impacted by Green Line’s enabling works projects in Ramsay, Highfield, Ogden and Douglas Glen. We have been testing ideas and working to better understand our stakeholders in preparation for LRT construction so that we can set ourselves up to better support impacted businesses.
Our business support program is built on four areas of focus:
Access Planning - Making sure safe access to impacted businesses is maintained as often as possible for the duration of construction.
Communications - Provide high quality, consistent and clear information so that stakeholders know what to expect from construction.
Community and Stakeholder Relations - Maintain regular contact with business owners to they feel informed, prepared, connected and supported as we work to deliver the Green Line LRT project.
Business Support Initiatives - Work with local impacted businesses to develop projects, events and programs to promote and encourage Calgarians to support business through construction.
