About the project

Mission Bridge is a vital connection for people walking, biking, and driving between the communities of Rideau Roxboro, and Mission.

The Mission Bridge Rehabilitation project focused on making the bridge safer, more comfortable, and easier to use for everyone. Key upgrades included structural repairs, improved pathways, new lighting, and preservation of the bridge’s heritage features.

With the work now complete, these upgrades will ensure the bridge will serve the community well into the future.

Nearby project: Water main extension work

Work on the water line replacement at Rideau Place to 34 Avenue S.W. and 2 Street S.W. is being postponed until Spring 2026.

Due to the volume of work happening in the area, the decision has been made to wait until Spring 2026 to complete this water line replacement in an effort to minimize overlapping with other construction activities happening in the area. This will help ensure when work resumes early next year, that the job can be completed efficiently and safely.  An updated schedule will be provided to area residents.

We apologize for any inconvenience postponement may cause and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.
