Hoarding permits are required to occupy space on City-owned right-of-way (i.e. alley, sidewalk, boulevard, and street) for the purpose of storing building materials and equipment (i.e. cranes, concrete trucks, forklifts, material delivery vehicles) around a construction site as per Bylaw 20M88 Parking of contractor vehicles is not permitted within the hoarded area owned by The City.
How to apply
Documentation of project information, engineered stamped drawings, and other required items must be submitted along with your application. See a list of Hoarding permit application requirements.
Once you register for a myID, you will be able to log into ePermits to apply. If you need help or additional explanation when using the ePermits website, please see the ePermits frequently asked questions.
The City encourages the use of enhanced screening for hoarding applications. This adds visual interest and public art as well as provides opportunities for youth and artists to showcase their work. This is in addition to required adequate screening, fencing or scaffolding (as per the Alberta Building Code) around a site to protect the public from any possible hazards.
