He spent 18 years as a school teacher and 13 years as a school administrator/principal.</p> <p>He is married to Mervianna. One project close to Shane's heart is the Families in Remembrance of Military Members (FIRMM). Shane co-founded the group after his nephew, Cpl. Shane Keating, died in Afghanistan. The group's goal was to educate Canadians about the military and provide support for fallen and wounded soldiers.​​​​</p>
