Resources for starting an ELM program
Once you are part of an Enhanced Landscape Maintenance (ELM) program, there are several potential steps/actions you can take to enact the landscape improvements/enhancements:
Source a contractor
During the hiring process, communities can evaluate potential contractors based on a variety of criteria.
Do the work
Under the management of the ELM community, all landscape contractors hired to do work on public land are subject to City of Calgary Landscape Standards. Communities are responsible for ensuring their contractor meets these standards.
City of Calgary inspections
We will inspect enhancements and standard maintenance performed on public land to ensure landscape standards are being met.
Review the map to identify existing communities that participate in the ELM program. For more detailed information about participating communities and their programs, refer to local community webpages.
