Bowness Community No Longer Under Boil Water Advisory
Boil Water Advisory lifted
Following recent testing, The Boil Water Advisory for the Bowness community has been lifted. Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed that the water in Bowness meets all standards and is safe for consumption. Residents and businesses in Bowness can now use tap water without boiling it, and they don't need to flush their systems to access safe drinking water
The City has taken steps to ensure that safe drinking water from the Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant is now being delivered to Bowness by bypassing the damaged feeder main
Ongoing water restrictions
Despite the lifting of the advisory, it's important for Calgarians to continue conserving water to avoid exceeding the supply. The Stage 4 outdoor watering restrictions remain in place while crews work on the feedermain break near 16 Avenue N.W. and Home Road.
Additionally, a fire ban is still in effect for Calgary as a precautionary measure to help prevent any unnecessary fires. 16 Avenue remains closed at Home Road N.W, so please plan your route accordingly.
