June 15: Latest info on flooding risk and State of Local Emergency
Based on the most recent forecasts and information from The City of Calgary, the weather event we have been experiencing in Calgary is now tapering off. The Elbow River has reached peak flow, and the Bow River is expected to crest this afternoon.
The City of Calgary is not expecting to issue any evacuation orders as a result of this weather event. Weather can change quickly, and City crews will continue to monitor the situation, so please stay tuned for any further updates. The State of Local Emergency also remains in effect for the time being.
Below I have attached a link to the latest news release from The City with more information, as well as The City's flood info website. Thanks to City staff for all of their hard work, and thanks to all residents of Ward 1 for your patience and vigilance during this period of uncertainty.
