Celebrate Canada Day, 2025
Canada Day in Calgary is just around the corner — and this year’s celebration is bigger and better than ever. With more than 200 festivals and events launching as part of the Downtown Summer Festival Season, there’s no better time to rediscover everything our city’s core has to offer.
Festivities kick off at 11 a.m. on July 1, with free, family-friendly activities happening across The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland (formerly Fort Calgary), St. Patrick’s Island, and the Municipal Building. Whether you're looking for live music, cultural experiences, food, or fireworks — there’s something for everyone.
Highlights of the Day
The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland
This will be the heart of the celebration, with the Canada Day Main Stage featuring an all-Canadian music lineup starting at 3:20 p.m., hosted by emcee Megan Pierson. Musical performances include Lu Kala, Aysanabee, and headliner Sam Roberts Band.
Other attractions at this location include:
- Indigenous Spotlight and Powwow
- Indigenous Artisans Market
- Teaching Tipis and Trapper’s Tent
- Interactive Cultural Carousel
- Face painting, photo booths, and wellness tents
- Food trucks and refresh areas
St. Patrick’s Island
Bring the family and enjoy one of Calgary’s most scenic parks, featuring:
- Three live music stages (Trout Beach, The Rise & Confluence Plaza)
- Face painting and airbrush tattoos
- Picnic areas and playgrounds
- Local food vendors
Municipal Building
Step into traditional wear at the Cultural Clothing Spotlight, where visitors can try on outfits from a variety of cultural groups and capture the experience with a photo.
Fireworks Show
The day wraps up with a spectacular fireworks display at 11 p.m., launched from Stampede Park. The best place to view the show is from The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland, but you can also enjoy it from any of the usual Stampede viewing spots. Please note: there is no onsite viewing at Stampede Park this year.
Don’t Forget: Plan Ahead & Celebrate Respectfully
As you head downtown, remember to be a good neighbour: park only where permitted, dispose of garbage properly, and keep noise down when leaving the fireworks.
Canada Day 2025 is shaping up to be a full day of music, food, culture, and celebration. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy Calgary at its best and make lasting memories with your community.
