August was a quieter month across Ward 2. Kids were on break, council was out of session, and many of us enjoyed a slower pace. As we head into September, the rhythm is shifting: students are back in school, we’re back into the full flow of everyday life, and City Council is returning to serious work.

The message from my office on e-mobility in Calgary is straightforward: most electric mobility devices are not currently legal for use in public spaces. This includes private e-scooters and electric dirt bikes. With the exception of pedal-equipped e-bikes that meet provincial regulations, these devices are not permitted on public roads, pathways, or sidewalks in the City of Calgary.

We have recently received an increase in reports and concerns from residents in Kincora regarding coyote activity in the area, including several encounters near pathways and ravines where coyotes are denned. While coyotes are a natural part of our urban environment, this recent activity has understandably caused concern for many families, walkers, and dog owners in the community.

This Saturday, Ward 2 is coming alive with community spirit. Residents across the ward are invited to take part in nine different events happening throughout the day, including several Neighbour Day celebrations and city-wide initiatives like All Sport One Day.
