Give Your Feedback on the Downtown Green Line LRT

The City of Calgary is moving ahead with a functional planning study for an elevated route of the Green Line LRT through the Beltline and downtown. In January 2025, City Council directed Administration to immediately begin this work, focusing on an elevated alignment along 10 Avenue S. and 2 Street S.W.

The functional plan will advance the design, validate cost estimates, and help better understand potential impacts to existing infrastructure. For many Calgarians, the Green Line will be part of everyday life, connecting people to work, school, services, entertainment, and each other. Because of that, this phase of the project is centered on listening to the people who will use it.

Public engagement for Phase 1 is taking place from February 9 to March 2, 2026. This phase is about building awareness of the elevated concept and hearing directly from residents about what matters most to them. The project team is looking for input on the elements of the elevated route that participants can help influence, as well as the priorities and concerns that should be considered as the design evolves.

There are a variety of ways to participate, including the following options:

·       From now until March 2, you can fill out the online survey at engage.calgary.ca/greenlinedowntown.

·       On February 10 and 28, you can attend a virtual information session. Visit engage.calgary.ca/greenlinedowntown to register and learn more.

·       From February 18- 22, stop by the Memorial Park Library to chat with the project team. Check the full schedule posted online so you don’t miss them.

If you work or travel through downtown, your perspective is important. To learn more about the study, review engagement details, or share your feedback, visit engage.calgary.ca/greenlinedowntown.
