Evanston Mobile Adventure Playground
Get ready for a day of outdoor fun, creativity, and exploration! The City of Calgary’s Mobile Adventure Playground program is back, and this year, we’re thrilled to host one right here in Ward 2.
Event Details:
Locations: Evanston Community Park
Date: Sunday, May 4
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This self-directed, drop-in program is designed for children ages 3 to 12, offering a unique chance to engage in imaginative, nature-based play using loose parts and natural materials. Think building, crafting, exploring, and inventing—all the things that make childhood magical.
Why Nature Play?
Nature-based and self-directed play is vital for a child’s development. It supports cognitive, emotional, and social growth while encouraging independence and confidence. The Mobile Adventure Playground provides a safe, open-ended environment where children can move freely, create their own games, and connect with others.
What to Expect:
- Outdoor crafts, games, and hands-on activities
- Onsite Play Ambassadors to inspire creativity and fun
- A welcoming space for families—parents are encouraged to stay and watch their children’s imaginations soar
Please note: all events are weather permitting and may be subject to change. For updates or cancellations, call 311.
Whether your child is an artist, a builder, a nature explorer—or all three—they’ll find something to love at the Mobile Adventure Playground. We hope to see many Evanston families out enjoying this special community event!
