Remembrance Day in Calgary, 2025
On November 11, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have defended our freedoms — and to express our gratitude to those who continue to serve today.
As a sign of respect, flags at all City of Calgary facilities will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sundown on Remembrance Day.
There are many ways to pay tribute across our city. Below are just a few of the ceremonies taking place in Calgary this year (please note these are not City-hosted events):
- Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium (1415 14 Ave NW)
- King’s Own Calgary Regiment – 137 Battalion Memorial, North Glenmore Park
- Studio Bell, National Music Centre (300-851 4 St SE)
- Field of Crosses – Memorial Drive between 3 Street NW and Centre Street
- The Hangar Flight Museum (4629 McCall Way NE)
- The Military Museums (4520 Crowchild Tr SW)
- Canadian Pacific Memorial – CP Memorial Square, 7550 Ogden Dale Rd SE
- Calgary Highlanders Remembrance Day Parade – Central Memorial Park, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
- 783 (Calgary) Wing RCAFA and Air Cadets (Genesis Centre at 10, 7555 Falconridge Blvd NE, Calgary)
This is not a comprehensive list, so I encourage you to check with your local community associations, legions, or faith organizations to see if they are planning their own ceremonies or moments of remembrance.
If you plan to attend a service, please visit the event website or contact the organizers directly to confirm details before heading out.
Lest we forget.
