Snow Update, November 27, 2025
Thank you to everyone who has reached out over the past few days as our city worked through the latest snowfall. I want to share an update on where things stand and what residents can expect next.
The City’s snow clock started at 3 p.m. on Monday, November 24, and Mobility crews remain on track to complete clearing on major routes within the approved service timeframes. Today, crews are focused on our primary community roads and transit routes to keep people moving safely.
Calgary Transit continues to operate under Snow Detours until further notice. Transit will share updates directly when regular routing resumes.
I also want to remind everyone of the responsibility we all share when it comes to sidewalk clearing. Property owners and occupants must clear snow and ice within 24 hours of snowfall ending. This is not just a bylaw requirement. It is an important part of keeping our communities safe and accessible, especially for seniors, children, and anyone using mobility aids.
Want to be a good neighbour? Be a Snow Angel! Keep an eye out for your neighbours in need, with includes seniors and anyone with reduced mobility. If you notice anyone struggling to keep their driveway and sidewalk clear, it never hurts to grab a shovel and help keep their snow from piling up. A little effort can go a long way to keeping your neighbours safe from icy conditions and building lasting relationships in your community.
Note that snow may be moved from a public sidewalk onto a public street, but it cannot be moved from private property onto public spaces. Under Bylaw 20M88, snow from driveways, parking pads, or private walkways cannot be pushed onto the road. Snow also cannot be shoveled into designated wheeling lanes such as cycle tracks.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to clear their sidewalks quickly. These small actions add up and help keep our neighbourhoods safe during winter weather.
