Ward 2 - Jennifer Wyness

Ward 2 Improvement Projects, 2025

We’re excited to share that the City of Calgary’s Mobility team is making significant investments in Ward 2 this year to improve how we move through our communities—whether by foot, bike, car, or mobility device. While construction can bring short-term inconvenience, these improvements will deliver long-term benefits for safety, accessibility, and quality of life in our neighbourhoods.

What’s Coming to Ward 2 this Year

Residents can look forward to a wide range of upgrades, including:

  • New pathways and pathway repairs to enhance walkability and recreational access.
  • New traffic lights at key intersections to improve safety for drivers and pedestrians.
  • Curb extensions and accessibility improvements to support safer crossings and better access for people with mobility challenges.
  • Signal timing upgrades and infrastructure repairs to make daily commutes smoother and more efficient.
  • Roadway work including asphalt and concrete surface repairs to keep our streets in top shape.

These projects are designed with safety, environmental impact, and accessibility in mind. The goal is to ensure our neighbourhoods remain safe, connected, and vibrant as they continue to grow.

Why It Matters

This work supports safer school zones, more accessible routes for seniors and people with disabilities, and greener transportation choices like walking, cycling, or transit. Whether you’re taking your kids to school, heading to work, or enjoying a walk around your community, these improvements will make your journey safer and more comfortable.

We’ll continue to share updates as projects begin throughout the construction season—and we appreciate your patience and understanding as crews work to complete these important upgrades.

Let’s keep building a stronger, safer Ward 2—together.

Why You Should Submit 311 SR Numbers

We also want to remind residents: if you’ve submitted a request or complaint about local traffic or transit concerns through 311, please send us your SR (Service Request) number. These numbers are a powerful data tool for our Ward 2 office. The more we see repeated patterns in community feedback, the more we can advocate for urgent improvements. Your SRs help prioritize traffic calming, signal upgrades, and infrastructure repairs right where they’re needed most.
