Winter 2024 Classes: How to Register

Winter arts and skills program registration dates

Nov. 16 — Schedules can be previewed online.

Nov. 21 — Program, class and day camp registration opens.

Programs and classes begin in January 2024. Registration for fall and winter break day camps is ongoing.

Winter swimming lesson registration dates

• Nov. 16 — Schedules can be previewed online.

Swimming lessons registration is split into several days to help manage the number of customers using our system at the same time. 

Registration for group and private lessons will begin on the following days: 

• Nov. 23 — Southland Leisure Centre, Canyon Meadows and Acadia Aquatic Centres
• Nov. 28 — Village Square Leisure Centre* (see below), Bob Bahan and Renfrew Aquatic Centres
• Nov. 30 — Foothills, Sir Winston Churchill and Thornhill Aquatic Centres 
• Dec. 5 — Killarney, Glenmore, Inglewood and Shouldice Aquatic Centres 

*Due to annual maintenance and cleaning, swimming lessons scheduled to begin at Village Square Leisure Centre in November 2023 have been rescheduled for January. As a result of this scheduling change, additional swimming lesson availability for winter 2024 registration at Village Square Leisure Centre will be limited. The water park and pool area remains closed as it undergoes additional repairs and is expected to reopen in December. Updates will be posted to calgary.ca/VillageSquare

Please note the times that registration will open for each program on their respective dates:

• 6:00 a.m. — Online (virtual waiting room opens at 5:30 a.m.)
• 8:30 a.m. — By calling the Customer Service Centre at 403-268-3800 (option 1).
• During business hours — At any City-operated Aquatic & Recreation or Arts facility.

New: Use Recreation Fee Assistance online

Customers approved for Recreation Fee Assistance via Fair Entry can use their subsidy allocation for programs, classes, lessons, admissions and pass purchases online.

Fair Entry clients logging into Live and Play for the first time should click "Forgot password" to access their account using the same email address provided to Fair Entry. Once logged in, you will be able to use your subsidy allocation.
