Celebrate Calgary Culture Days

We are celebrating Calgary Culture Days, providing thirty days of opportunities to discover, experience and celebrate arts and culture in your community, downtown and around our city. September 8-30, 2021.

Calgary Culture Days coincides with Alberta Culture Days through the month of September, while National Culture Days is celebrated September 24 – October 24

Enjoy FREE family-friendly lunchtime musical performances every Wednesday in September at Olympic Plaza. ArtsXpeditions at Olympic Plaza presents musicians and other performing artists, helping Calgarians reconnect with one another through the arts.

(The September 1 performance has been cancelled due to poor weather and is looking to reschedule to join the September 8 performance.)

Culture Days - Drum Circle

Unity Park on International Avenue – 3111 17 Ave S.E.

In the spirit of community collaboration and celebration of Calgary’s cultures, this FREE event is open to everyone, relying on public participation alongside a diverse group of multicultural musicians and artists invited to play a variety of drums and percussion instruments in an open drum circle. Everyone is welcome to express themselves through drumming and connecting people and cultures through rhythm.

Culture Days - Pokaiks the Children

Pokaiks the Children is a FREE event, open to everyone showcasing Indigenous arts to help bring people together to learn, have fun, have conversations and foster reconciliation through the arts. It is the third annual Orange Shirt Day event for the Colouring It Forward Reconciliation Society, featuring a walk down Stephen Avenue starting at 10 a.m. and an event at Olympic Plaza from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. including speakers from the community, musical entertainment and emcee Autumn Eagle Speaker.
