Based on updated Provincial public health measures announced May 4, all City of Calgary-operated indoor and outdoor sport, fitness and recreation programs and facility bookings will be suspended until further notice. Information about summer programs, including day camps, will be available when Provincial health orders permit.


Gymnasium - Southland Leisure Centre

Southland Leisure Centre Sport Hall

All ages can enjoy our full-size gymnasiums. The rubberized floors have been marked for basketball, pickleball and badminton. We operate the gym on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Sport Hall  is home to a variety of sports and it can be booked for private, one-on-one sport training with a certified or paid instructor or for minor (under 18 years) group training activities.

Bring your own equipment.

Approved booking uses

  • Under Grade 7 sports group activity - No more than 10 people per gym (1 trainer/coach with 9 participants); gym can be split in half to accommodate two groups of 10, but groups and participants must maintain 3 metres physical distancing unless they are from the same household.
  • One-on-one training - 1 trainer/coach with 1 participant. Trainers must be professional, certified, paid and provide active instruction.
  • Household use - A household must have a trainer/coach to a maximum of 10 people. All participants must live in the same household. Trainers must be professional, certified, paid and provide active instruction.
