Air Quality Index

The Air Quality Index is a system developed to provide the public with a meaningful measure of outdoor air quality.

The Air Quality Index is based on outdoor concentrations of carbon monoxide, dust and smoke, nitrogen dioxide, ozone and sulphur dioxide.

Pollutants are monitored continuously by Alberta Environment and is calculated hourly for Calgary and Edmonton.
