The 2025 Rotary International Convention is expected to see over 15,000 delegates representing more than 120 different countries from around the globe, in our city to explore the best that Calgary has to offer.
Hosting the Rotary International Convention is proudly locally supported by Tourism Calgary, The City of Calgary, the Calgary Hotel Association, Calgary Stampede, BMO Centre, Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, Calgary Downtown Association and members of Rotary District 5360.
What is Rotary and the Rotary International Convention?
Rotary is a global service organization with 1.4 million members around the world and is the only service organization to sit on the United Nations Advisory Council.
The Rotary International Convention is the annual global gathering of Rotary members - people of action - who come together to exchange ideas, celebrate humanitarian achievements, and collaborate on solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. It’s Rotary’s largest and most inspiring event, uniting leaders in service, peace, and community impact.
Welcoming Rotary members to Calgary

Coming right off G7, Calgary’s spotlight on the global stage will be further amplified as we host the Rotary International Convention.
Calgarians should expect to see many convention delegates moving around our city. With a smile, a friendly hello, and even providing directions to Stampede Park – welcoming Rotary members in every interaction will be a chance to showcase how Calgary earned a world-renowned reputation for hospitality.

Transit will be increasing CTrain service to help manage the crowds, though trains and platforms may still be busy. Extra Transit staff will be on hand to assist and help keep things moving smoothly.

Downtown Vibrancy
From June 20–22, walking paths from hotels leading to Stampede Park will come alive with music, energy, and interactive moments. The Road to Rotary will feature periodic activations designed to spark joy and leave a lasting impression - from occasional pop-up performances to a photo-friendly installation that invite everyone to make memories in the Blue Sky City as we kick off summer in Calgary.
These activations are not only for our visitors. Locals who are passing by are encouraged to stop and listen or snap a photo or two! If you hear the music playing, plan to take an extra minute passing by:
- The Bounce Park
- Pixel Park
- The Calgary Tower
- 3rd Steet SW
To help make navigating downtown fun and easy, we’ve placed creative wayfinding in seven key intersections to better connect the BMO Centre to the rest of downtown. Keep an eye out for bright coloured decals adorning the sidewalk.

Ensuring Calgary Shines
Partners across the city are working together to ensure a warm, vibrant welcome. From refreshed underpasses and tidy parks to clean pathways along major pedestrian routes, enhanced maintenance efforts are making downtown Calgary more inviting than ever—for both locals and our international guests.
Downtown businesses have also been encouraged to embrace the spirit by showcasing Rotary’s blue and gold colours with vibrant decor and messages of welcome. Keep an eye out for welcome signage and new blooms along Stephen Avenue and Barclay and in front of hotels.

How long will the event last and what should I expect during that time?
The convention runs over five days, but you’ll notice a high number of international visitors continues on from G7 as there are pre-convention activities taking place. You should also anticipate that many delegates will stay after and explore.
Expect a vibrant downtown atmosphere, more international visitors, and great energy throughout the city.
Should I avoid downtown during the event?
Not at all!
While it will be busier, this is a fantastic time to be downtown. It’s a chance to enjoy the energy, discover cool activations, and maybe even connect with people from around the world. Calgary’s community spirit will be on full display.
