Construction pauses and information

During Stampede, several City-led construction projects downtown and on major traffic routes are making sure Calgarians can get around during the 10-day event.

  • Sunnyside Flood Barrier on eastbound Memorial Dr. N.W. between Centre St. N and 14th St. N.W. will reopen to traffic through Stampede.
  • Concrete rehab, milling and paving on 36th St. N.E. between 16th Ave. and 39th Ave. N.E. will be fully open through Stampede.
  • Bridgeland project two-way traffic on First Ave. N.E. between Fourth St. and Sixth St. N.E. will be removed during Stampede. 
  • Gas line work eastbound on McKnight Blvd. N.E. between Centre St. N and Edmonton Tr. N.E. will be open through Stampede.
  • Roadway Improvement Project on Memorial Dr. between 36th St. and 39th St. S.E. will be fully open during Stampede.
  • Macleod Trail Paving Project will have Macleod Tr. fully open except for off-peak single lane closures between Shawnessy Blvd. and Anderson Rd. S.E.
