Sport Hub: School sport lessons

Sport Hub helps bring engaging, in‑class sports education to your school. We believe in the value of sports in schools and that every kid and teen deserves the chance to play. Sport Hub programs focus on learning and skills development in a fun, supportive and non‑competitive environment.

How it works

Any teacher can contact Sport Hub about bringing a new sport to their school. We’ll connect you with school board-approved organizations and their screened coaches, to create an instructional program and schedule that supports your teaching goals. Programs run in schools and all equipment is provided.

What to expect

  • 5-day lessons, similar to a residency model
  • Two coaches present at all times
  • Free lessons for schools in select Calgary communities.

Sport Hub coaches

Sport Hub lessons are delivered by sport organizations and their experienced coaches. Coaches are:

  • Experienced in teaching kids and teens
  • Certified with Intermediate First Aid, CPR and AED Level C
  • Required to have a valid Police Information Check
  • Insured and meet school board safety requirements
  • Certified in Safe Sport training
