Sport Hub: Community sport lessons

Sport Hub offers a variety of sport lessons for 5-18 year olds in targeted Calgary neighbourhoods and local community spaces. Lessons are led by experienced coaches from sport organizations, ensuring participants have safe and inclusive opportunities close to home.

Types of lessons

Sport Hub lessons are available year-round with ongoing registration. Lessons are free or low-cost thanks to contributions from funding partners. 

A Live and Play account is needed to register for lessons. Create an account.

Sport Hub coaches

Sport Hub lessons are delivered by sport organizations and their experienced coaches. Coaches are:

  • Experienced in teaching kids and teens
  • Certified with Intermediate First Aid, CPR and AED Level C
  • Required to have a valid Police Information Check
  • Certified in Safe Sport training

What to expect

Participants will be introduced to different sports in a fun way, helping them learn new skills through games, drills and practice matches. Instructors encourage participants to learn, play and grow in a non-competitive setting.

  • Classes run for 75 minutes, twice a week, for four weeks.
  • Programs take place in convenient community locations such as community halls, public courts and gymnasiums.
