Calgary’s Mental Health and Addiction Investment Framework
In March 2021, City Council approved the Calgary’s Mental Health and Addiction Strategy, as well as the supporting Investment Framework. The Framework builds on the success and lessons learned through the previously administered Prevention Investment Framework with a mental health and addiction lens and the first two rounds of the Change Can’t Wait! Fast Pilot funding.
Calgary’s Mental Health and Addiction Investment Framework was developed to guide the investments of the remaining $14 million previously approved to support the vision of Calgary’s Mental Health and Addiction Strategy, and its three critical outcome areas of:
- Being well: Wellness at home, at school, at work and in the community
- Getting help: What you need, when where and how you need it
- Staying safe: Security at all times, especially in a crisis
The Framework will be implemented until 2023 in collaboration with the Community Investment Table, which was established in 2020 to co-invest and guide investments in fast pilot projects to address issues related to mental health, addictions and public safety.
