Calgary's Mental Health and Addiction Strategy Community of Practice

In 2025, The City launched a Community of Practice to expand participation in the Calgary’s Mental Health and Addiction Strategy. Guided by recommendations from the Strategy’s Five-Year Evaluation, this initiative is open to all organizations working to improve mental health and addictions outcomes in the community.

The Community of Practice fosters alignment and collaboration across non-profit, community, government, and academic sectors. It supports Action #7 of the Strategy: Build capacity of local organizations to meet the mental health and addiction needs in the community through convening around common actions.

The Community of Practice provides opportunities to:

  • Learn about funding opportunities for programs and services.
  • Strengthen sector relationships through information sharing and collaboration.
  • Connect research, policy, and practice to drive change.
  • Identify collective impact and system-change projects that benefit Calgarians.
