Vehicle for Hire is launching a new online system to make licensing easier for drivers and companies. Soon you will be able to apply for or renew licences and submit documents online.

Apply using your desktop computer or laptop. The system will also be accessible using internet connected mobile devices, such as smartphones (iPhone and Android) and tablets.

The goal is to make the process faster, safer and more convenient for everyone in the vehicle-for-hire industry. This means:

Phase 1 includes online applications and renewals for brokerages and transportation network companies (TNCs).

  • Planned launch date: Coming in November 2025
  • Demonstration invitations and more details on the project will be shared soon

Future phases will include online services for:

  • Inspection stations and mechanics 
  • Taxi and limousine plates 
  • Driver applications and renewals for taxis and TNCs
  • Submitting vehicle inspection documents
  • Vehicle registrations
