Vehicle for Hire is launching a new online system to make licensing easier for drivers and companies. Soon you will be able to apply for or renew licences and submit documents online.
Apply using your desktop computer or laptop. The system will also be accessible using internet connected mobile devices, such as smartphones (iPhone and Android) and tablets.

The goal is to make the process faster, safer and more convenient for everyone in the vehicle-for-hire industry. This means:

Project rollout in phases
Phase 1a: Go-Live complete on April 14, 2026.
Phase 1a included online applications and renewals for Brokerages and Transportation Network Companies (TNCs).
Phase 1b and 1c: Go-Live scheduled for May 25, 2026!
Phase 1b and 1c include online applications and renewals for Inspection Stations and Mechanics, and renewals for Taxi Plate Licenses.
Future phases will include online services for:
- Limousine plates
- Driver applications and renewals for taxis and TNCs
- Submitting vehicle inspection documents
- Vehicle registrations
More updates will be shared as the project continues in 2026.
