Thank a City employee
How to send a compliment
Every day, City employees work across Calgary to keep our city safe, clean, and running smoothly. Your thanks helps us highlight the real impact employees have in our communities.
If a City employee helped you, showed kindness, or solved a problem, we want to hear about it. Your message helps us recognize their work and encourages a culture of service and care.
Use the 311 portal to share:
- A compliment or thank‑you message
- The employee’s name, if you know it
- Where and when the interaction happened
- What they did that stood out to you
We will pass your message to the employee and their supervisor.
Recently recognized employees / teams
Calgarians often share stories about City employees who make a positive difference.
Here are a few examples of recent compliments we have received.
Thank you very much to the 311 representative who took a call on Sunday May 24, having a panic attack and could not breathe and could not remember the distress centre contact #. The 311 rep had placed me on hold to find the distress contact # but I disconnected the call myself, found the distress contact # and called. A CPS (Constable) had arrived at my home, did a wellness check and assisted. That 311 rep went above and beyond and has had good training.
Just wanted to say thank you to the garbage truck driver who took time to wave and give a little honk to my 2 year old son today while he picked up our garbage. My son was so excited! It really made our day.
I made an odd request to a grounds keeper. My dog, a hound dog needs to sniff everything needed to sniff his weed-wacker. This parks worker said yes then turned off the machine put it on the ground then knelt down and waited till my dog felt safe to move in and sniff. Thank you for taking the time and being so kind and helpful toward an odd request.
