How to send a compliment

Every day, City employees work across Calgary to keep our city safe, clean, and running smoothly. Your thanks helps us highlight the real impact employees have in our communities.

If a City employee helped you, showed kindness, or solved a problem, we want to hear about it. Your message helps us recognize their work and encourages a culture of service and care.

Use the 311 portal to share:

  • A compliment or thank‑you message
  • The employee’s name, if you know it
  • Where and when the interaction happened
  • What they did that stood out to you

We will pass your message to the employee and their supervisor.

Recently recognized employees / teams

Calgarians often share stories about City employees who make a positive difference.

Here are a few examples of recent compliments we have received.

I wanted to share that the City of Calgary water technician that addressed our issue was amazing. They were very punctual, professional and skilled, and their support was much appreciated.
I would like to appreciate a City street sweeper named Paul from Mobility, who came by today to explain the situation: basically why the truck that initially came in for sweeping last week wasn't able to complete the work. The re-sweep occurred today and we’re all thrilled to experience such great customer service.
I went to the Fair Entry office at the Village Square Public Library to get a recreation card. I’m very pleased with the service I received from everyone at this location, specially Annalise at the recreation counter, who took my picture and issued the card. Thank you all!
