How to send a compliment

Every day, City employees work across Calgary to keep our city safe, clean, and running smoothly. Your thanks helps us highlight the real impact employees have in our communities.

If a City employee helped you, showed kindness, or solved a problem, we want to hear about it. Your message helps us recognize their work and encourages a culture of service and care.

Use the 311 portal to share:

  • A compliment or thank‑you message
  • The employee’s name, if you know it
  • Where and when the interaction happened
  • What they did that stood out to you

We will pass your message to the employee and their supervisor.

I spoke with Kendall when I called earlier to renew the licences for all three of our animals and wanted to say that Kendall is very friendly and helpful. It was just such a wonderful experience that I just felt I had to share it!
My green cart was knocked over after collection this morning. The driver didn't see this issue until he turned around to go down the other side. Once he saw my cart on its side, he got out of his vehicle, crossed the street and picked it back up. I’m very happy and appreciative, as it makes my life much easier and shows the department cares about citizens. Keep up the great work!
