How to send a compliment
Every day, City employees work across Calgary to keep our city safe, clean, and running smoothly. Your thanks helps us highlight the real impact employees have in our communities.
If a City employee helped you, showed kindness, or solved a problem, we want to hear about it. Your message helps us recognize their work and encourages a culture of service and care.
Use the 311 portal to share:
- A compliment or thank‑you message
- The employee’s name, if you know it
- Where and when the interaction happened
- What they did that stood out to you
We will pass your message to the employee and their supervisor.

Myself and my kids noticed many of the electrical boxes around Shawnessy, Somerset and Millrise are now painted with art! We love them! What a perfect artistic touch. Thank you to whomever the artist(s) and planners of this were.
I teach English to newcomers and ask new students their favourite thing about living in Calgary. Last night a student said that her favourite thing about Calgary is the amazing transit system.
