Festivals and Events Event funding

Festivals and events enhance our communities, the lives of our citizens and play an important role in Calgary's growth as an active, vibrant and creative city.

We know Calgarians are always looking for ways to safely participate in arts, culture, sport, and recreation events. This page outlines the funding opportunities associated with The City available to support festivals and events that improve the wellbeing of citizens, families, and our communities.

Festivals and Events Subsidy Program

We are no longer accepting applications for the Festivals and Events Subsidy Program.

Eligibility for the Festivals and Events Subsidy is determined by our City Events Team with final funding amounts determined by the Cultural Leadership Council and Corporate Event Steering Committee.

Arts & Culture Microgrant Program

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2022 Arts and Culture microgrant.

Awarding between $500 to $50,000 to applicants for experiences that take place from June 7 through December 31, 2022. Opportunities for funding include community-run projects, new opportunities for local artists, activations in winter months and local events hosted by not-for-profits.
