Business Tax Instalment Payment Plan (BTIPP)
The City of Calgary is continuing to take action to support businesses and help keep our local economy afloat throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. BIA tax accounts will have a one-time credit equal to their 2021 BIA tax bill applied to their account.
If you participate in BTIPP and the application of the 2021 BIA tax credit results in your account having a credit or a zero balance, the upcoming BTIPP instalment will not be deducted from your account. Your regular BTIPP instalments will resume on January 1, 2022.
The Business Tax Instalment Payment Plan (BTIPP) is a program that allows you to pay your Business Improvement Area (BIA) tax on a monthly basis instead of a single annual payment. Your payment automatically comes out of your chequing account the first day of every month, making budgeting easier and avoiding the risk of a 7% late payment penalty.
