BIA tax: assessment complaints
If you have filed a complaint against your assessment, you must still pay your Business Improvement Area (BIA) tax by the due date to avoid penalties.
Penalties for late payment are not waived due to the scheduling of a complaint hearing.
If a decision on your complaint results in a lower BIA tax levy, the reduction is credited to the tax account. A refund cheque is automatically issued for accounts with a credit balance greater than $25. A credit balance of less than $25 will be refunded upon request.
