myID business account
myID is an online service that provides citizens and business owners access to multiple City services using a single account.
About myID business account
A myID business account is used to interact with City online services on behalf of a business or an organization (not personal or individual use) such as assessment, permitting, approval and licensing services.
There are two types of myID business accounts:
- Business administrator
- Business user
With a business administrator account, you can:
- Create myID business user accounts.
- Modify your profile information.
- Change your password.
- Close your, or other business user accounts (only business administrators can close accounts, not business users).
Before you begin
To sign up for a myID business administrator account, have the following information ready:
- Business license number or a business ID number. Don't have one? Register online at start a business.
- A business contact email address registered with The City of Calgary. Visit Calgary.ca/businessemail to register your email.

Sign up for a myID business administrator account
Sign up for a myID business administrator account is a two step process:
- Create a myID personal account (or use an existing myID personal account)
- Convert a myID personal account to a myID business administrator account by getting validated from your business.
If you already have a myID personal account and you want to convert it to a myID business administrator account, go to: Convert to myID business administrator account below.
Visit the myID sign up page, and under “New to myID?”, click the “Create a myID account” button. Follow the online instructions, entering your business email address when prompted.
As part of the registration process, a validation code will be emailed to the email address you provided above.
Retrieve the validation code from your email, and enter it in the “One time passcode” box. Click Submit.
You will then be logged in to the system and taken to your dashboard.
Convert to myID business administrator account
Once logged in to your myID personal account, on the top right menu, click the “Account” button. Find and click the “Business Validation” button.
Enter your business license number or business ID, click the “Submit” button. An email will be sent to your email address with an activation link. In addition, another email will be sent to the business contact email that was registered for your business with The City. This second email will contain an activation code along with details about your request You will need to obtain this activation code from this business contact email to complete your registration.
Follow the instructions in youremail to activate the myID business administrator account. A confirmation email with the subject line “Account Activation Notification” will be sent.
Don’t have a City of Calgary Business ID or license number?
Businesses without a City of Calgary Business ID or license number can submit a request online at start a business.
Haven’t registered your business email address with The City of Calgary yet?
If you already have a business ID or license number but need to register (or modify) an email for your business contact, you can call 311 or email City of Calgary business registration.
Send an email to BusinessRegistry@calgary.ca. In your email, include the following information:
- Applicant name
- Business name
- Business ID (BID)
- Contact phone number
- Business email address
- Business location address
Need to create a myID business user account?
Once the myID business administrator account has been set up, that account can create any other necessary myID business user accounts. To create a myID business user account, sign in to myID, then click the “Account” button on the top right menu, find and click on the “Create business user” button.
