Transit Updates for Fall | Starting August 31

As we head into September, Calgary Transit is rolling out important service changes across our north-central communities, including updates that affect Route 503 (Sage Hill Express) and the former Route 735 (Diefenbaker / Sage Hill / Kincora).

These changes are part of the finalized North Central Transit Service Review, designed to improve efficiency, better connect riders to high schools and major destinations, and make the most of new MAX Green infrastructure. With that said, we understand that the service may come as a change to certain residents, and we have already heard from a number of you that these changes add travel time to your commutes. I hope that this article addresses some of your concerns, and prepares Ward 2 for the changes coming August 31st. 

What's changing this fall

• Route 115: Symons Valley Parkway has an updated map, as well as, weekday trip times and frequency have been adjusted to improve schedule adherence.
• Route 123: Sage Hill / North Pointe has been removed.
• Route 124: Evanston has added weekday school trips, with an updated schedule and map.
• Route 503: Symons Valley Express is now a key all-day, frequent connection between Sage Hill Transit Hub and Downtown, leveraging MAX Green stops along Centre Street N.
• Route 735: Diefenbaker / Sage Hill / Kincora has been removed as part of the network redesign.
• Route 805: St. Jean Brebeuf / Hamptons / Edgemont has been removed.

Please note: Several express routes in the North Central area are transitioning to one trip per day in each direction as Calgary Transit phases in the new 500-series express network. New and revised routes (including Routes 46 and 47) now provide two-way, all-day service linking Sage Hill, Beddington, and the 78 Avenue Terminal, with improved connections to key destinations.

Plan ahead for September

Most of these changes take effect Monday, August 31, 2026. As you plan your trips for the new school year and fall routines, please:

• Update your trip planning date to after August 31 in the Calgary Transit trip planning tool to see the latest schedules.
• Call the Calgary Transit Call Centre at 403-262-1000 for personalized assistance.
