Transit

Lead time for requests: minimum 14 business days lead time

Calgary Transit has been connecting passengers to the people and places they care about since 1909, when streetcar service was first introduced. We take pride in providing safe, accessible and courteous transportation services 365 days a year.

Operating a fully accessible fleet of buses and CTrains (Calgary’s version of light rail transit), Calgary has 150 bus routes and 45 CTrain stations across the city, providing upwards of 100 million trips annually.

Calgary Transit supports creative industries.

In fact, in October 2022, we temporarily renamed bus route 19 in honour of the release of the TV series High School, based on the memoirs of Calgary-born platinum artists Tegan and Sara.

“We took a lot of public transit growing up. We took the CTrain, we took buses, we walked a lot – we love public transit. It was how we got to school; it was how we saw our friends.”

Things to consider when requesting to film on transit

  • Our goal is to accommodate filming requests; however please note that if requests are made to film on buses or CTrains during rush hours (6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.), consideration will be given to whether filming will be a significant inconvenience to passengers.
  • Requests may be made to access out-of-service buses or CTrain cars; however, charter rates will apply. We will be pleased to provide quotes as requested.
  • Depending on the location and filming schedule, Transit Peace Officers may be required.
  • To ensure the safety and security of Transit employees, members of the public and the film crew, rules of each transportation mode must be observed.
