Fees relating to streets, sidewalks and parking

Service Fees
Service: Use of street or sidewalk Fees: $31.50 per day
Service:

Parking for production vehicles in on-street parking zones, City-owned parkades or surface lots.

Service: Traffic control planning and coordination Fees:

$158.05 and up 

Service: "No parking at any time" (NPAT) signage – design and production cost. Note: You also may choose to rent and manage your own NPAT signage. Fees: $328.57 and up ($345 incl GST)
Service: Large detours – where a lane or full road closure is needed.  Fees: $557.14 and up ($585 incl GST)

Police (for traffic control)

All fees are subject to change and 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) 

  • A minimum three-hour charge per officer/vehicle applies.  
  • A three-hour charge per officer will apply if less than 24 hours’ cancellation notice is given.
  • Please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for review and processing.
  • The City will determine which Police personnel are required to be involved in filming based on production needs. Fees vary as follows:

There are no additional fees related to noise exemptions.

Fees relating to parks

A $5.75 risk management fee is applied to all bookings/rentals.

  • Each application will incur a non-refundable $26.25 administrative fee upon processing the application.
  • Most park fees vary based on amenities, the day of the week and the time of year. Our Film Friendly Team will help you identify suitable locations and provide quotes.  
  • Some Parks properties have set rates, as follows:

Fees relating to City owned and managed facilities

Facility rental rates vary based on the impact of the booking on other complex amenities and the length of booking. Approximate daily rates are listed below. Please contact the Film Friendly Team for facility specific costs. 

Each Recreation facility application will incur a non-refundable $26.25 administrative fee due upon processing the application and a $5.75 risk management fee.

  • For most other facilities, fees and security deposits will be negotiated with the location manager and the Film Friendly and Facilities Teams' representatives.
  • If access to buildings or grounds is granted, all associated costs including service staff and City security will be charged to the production company.
  • We’d like to note that fees associated with facility rentals are for cost recovery only and are not a way to generate revenue for The City.
