We often reflect on the service and sacrifice of past generations on Remembrance Day. But equally important are the stories of those who continue to serve today and the communities that support them — including families, friends and coworkers who serve alongside them in quieter ways.

We had the honour of hosting Iain Bushell, Director, Emergency Management and Community Safety, Mitch Walz, Associate Assessor, Assessment, and Vladimir Batinic, Team Lead, Technical Security, Corporate Security, to share their story, reflect on the lessons military service brings to public service and show Calgarians a different perspective to remembrance.

From childhood heroes and the hard reality of being away from home to the understanding that no mission is accomplished alone, this conversation is a meaningful addition to your playlist.
